Institute now accepting memberships
VANCOUVER, BC (Sept. 10, 2020) — The Landform Design Institute (LDI) is now accepting new members to join the cause of making landform design routine in the mining industry worldwide.
Visit the LDI signup page to join now.
The Institute hopes to sign up 200 members in the coming weeks, leading to its one-year anniversary. Both individual and student memberships are now available, each receiving the same benefits.

The LDI Board and Technical Advisory Panel will be counting on members to help the mining industry move towards establishing sustainable mining landscapes and responsible closure and reclamation by addressing identified operational and knowledge gaps.
In mid-November, the Institute will release a position paper that will detail the gaps as well as the LDI mandate and strategic plan.
Membership benefits include:
- Opportunities to contribute to the mission of the Institute
- Access to a members directory
- Access to the PDF library, the Landform Design Quarterly newsletter, landform design tools and checklists, introductory lectures and a case history database
- A 20% discount on landform design courses and case history symposia
- Regular alerts for podcasts, events, publications, news items, and courses
- Networking opportunities at virtual and in-person events.
Members will gain complimentary access to the position paper and a series of publications, including discussion papers, technical reports, and the landform design and reclamation textbooks.
These publications will include the results of consultations with mine practitioners and industry leaders from around the world. They will include recommendations to designers, mining companies, and regulators.
